The Palm Island Deira is the third man-made island to be created in Dubai. It is much larger in size than both the Palm Jumeira and Jebel Ali Islands. The Palm Deira features residential communities, leisure, tourist, cultural and entertainment options for both residents and visitors.
The Palm Deira consists of a trunk, a crown of 41 fronds and a surrounding crescent that acts as a wave breaker protecting the Palm.
The Palm in approximate numbers:
- 7820 different-type villas will be constructed on the Palm Deira.
- 14.3km is the length of the Island from the base of the trunk up to the tip of the crescent.
- 21km is the length of the crescent, the largest in the world
- 150-400 meters is the variation in the distance between the fronds.

The construction of the Palm Islands creates new habitats, which attracts many species of fish and birds according to Marine biologist who are attending the project.
